Bio:

Linda J. Lord Blessed with a wonderful family and meaningful work, Linda welcomes the opportunity to explore the ‘storytilling’ side of her business. As a coach and ‘human agriculturalist’ for 14 years, Linda has equipped and edified individuals who want to make a living and have a life. Now, she takes her education in psychology, sociology, and English Literature and combines it with her experience and faith to write and perform monodramas that deliver H.O.P.E. Her other stage credits include: Lori in Keeping It Real, Leah in Cracked, Miss Prism in The Importance of Being Earnest, various roles in liturgical drama, and Miss Geranium in Miss Charity’s Diner television program for children aged 3-7. Linda is also e-MAHs Regional Director for Canada and author of the business fable, The Pitch.

Welcome to summer. With Victoria Day Weekend behind us and Memorial Weekend beginning, it is officially summer. And by the look of my calendar, it won't be the lazy days of summer over the next few months.

May has been a wonderful month for The Pitch book tour. I have been receiving very positive feedback from professional readers and reviewers from Canada and the United States. Also in June, my son's graduation from grade eight. I am so proud of him and look forward to watching him step into more independence, and the other stuff that comes from being a teenager...

I will be returning to the International Fringe Festival again this year with another original stage play. "Lost and Found" is the story of mistakes, motherhood, and making things right.

I look forward to taking the stage with Brittany Walls in August as we present a stage play on 21st Century Slavery - the things that keep us bound.

I continue to have the privilege of coaching individuals for their personal and professional success, as well as facilitate a variety of workshops. I will be traveling to Orlando in the fall to deliver a session at the RanOne conference.

Just a quick note to let you know a few things that are going on.

First, thank you to all those who supported the Business Socials last year. It was my pleasure to serve as facilitator for those events.

Next, a big thank you to those who have been supporting the sale of my first business fable, "The Pitch". There has been media coverage in the Essex Free Press and BizX magazine. We had a successful signing at Indigo, St. Clair Beach and other locations may be announced soon. I have been able to send my first donation cheque to Hemophilia Ontario, South Western Ontario Region.

Good Tuesday morning to everyone. I trust you had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed Family Day yesterday.

Just a few updates for you and a couple of announcements.

First, I want to remind everyone of a special event that I am holding this coming Saturday. "Take to The Pitch" Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Indigo, St. Clair Beach from 1 -4 pm. Remember that $1.00 from every copy sold will be donated to the Hemophilia Society, South Western Ontario Region.

"The Pitch" is a business fable that follows the story of a single mother and business owner who stuggles to juggle work and life. Neither is going particularly well until she starts to apply the lessons she learns at her son's soccer practices.

"The Pitch is a story of hope and encouragement. I want readers to take the time to answer for themselves, the same questions that Liz (the main character) has to ask herself. This is a straightforward fable that will help struggling business owners sort some things out. I believe that a small business can only be as strong as the business owner and this book is intended to grow the owner."

Next, Actor's Theatre of Windsor presents: Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune this coming weekend aat the Capitol Theatre. Tickets are $30; students and seniors $15 and group rates are available. Warning: play contains mature themes, content, and language. Dinner packages and dining discounts available.

I am reading a very good book right now, titled, "Success Intelligence." I will give a synopsis when I am finished. Also, I finished reading "Storycatchers." It was excellent. Never deny the power of story in life or at work.

Welcome 2010. You may wonder where I have been the past several weeks and the truth is that I had a lot to tidy up from 2009. I, like many other business owners, had to re-evaluate some things as the year closed. As some of you know, last year turned out to be a year of tremendous personal reflection and an opportunity to engage in the same type of difficult conversations that I ask of my clients.

The result is a gradual shifting of my services over the next 18-24 months. My focus will remain on growing individuals so they are able to successfully make a living and have a life. The way I do that will change, however. Currently, you are able to grow through one on one coaching and workshops. You will begin to see additional written works, such as my book The Pitch, and dramatic presentations on what it means to be human, such as my one woman show, Cracked. I am exploring several delivery models that will allow organizations to benefit financially from working with me and expose my work to a broader audience.

I have been very blessed to have helped several business owners and career employees achieve their dreams. I have helped professionals work fewer hours and be more productive. I have helped professionals build sustainable practices. I have encouraged and supported working mothers as they juggle career and home. I have been witness to my own husband’s journey to the fulfillment of his professional dream. Now, I want the challenge and joy of building another business that focuses on utilizing the skills and talents that I have marginalized for many years. For those of you who know me well, you know how important my faith is to me. I believe that I have been given the wide variety of experiences and opportunities that I have had to prepare me for this next adventure. It is time to step up.

I have always been a writer and a performer. I have found ways to do that for business audiences. Now, I am developing the goals, mission, and plan to make that happen outside my traditional market. I have enrolled in an actor’s workshop. I am currently taking voice classes. I am working on three scripts and I have been invited to be Artistic Director for a family friendly performance venue in the area. The Pitch is going to be stocked in the St. Clair Beach Indigo for the month of February as part of their Author’s Consignment Program and I will have a book signing on Saturday, February 20 from 1-4 pm.

Today was a very busy day. It started with a radio interview at 8:15 this morning about Life Coaching. Then I lead a workshop for 27 people. I volunteered at a local job fair and business expo. I coached four clients. I returned to the expo to deliver a presentation on Playing Your Own Game. Then I attended an open house at one of the high school options my son has for next year.

I realized as I was listening to the principle and teachers that our youth are encouraged, and maybe expected, to know what they want to do with their lives by grade 10. That’s a lot of pressure. I didn’t have a real answer to that question until about 90 days ago (well past grade 10, I might add). Or maybe deciding at that age is best. If I recall what I wanted to be when I was in grade 10 it would probably be much closer than what I convinced myself was best for almost 20 years.

My point here, is, that it is never too late to follow your heart. With the right plan, that is well thought out and is realistic given your life circumstances, we can all choose to change directions. Many people right now have been forced into a different direction through layoffs and closings. You have a choice. I have a choice. If you’re not doing what you’ve always dreamed of doing or if your life just isn’t the one you had always imagined for yourself, now might be the time to explore your options.

My new company is based on the concept of H.O.P.E. where each letter represents what you can count on when you encounter me: honesty, options, perspective, and entertrainment (that is not a typo). It is time to get honest about who we are and what we want. Through the written or spoken word, you will get options. One thing that I have always provided clients is a fresh perspective; someone who can examine the situation without the emotional attachment. And you will be entertrained – learning with a story.

What would it take to get your attention that life was out of control? Leah and Dan Morrison have their share of troubles. They are a young married couple with one daughter, Katie.

Leah’s work as an archaeologist often takes her away from her family. Her challenge is to establish herself in her profession and make time for her family. When tragedy strikes, Leah is forced to re-evaluate her priorities and examine her choices.

Leah’s journey is one that takes her from self-loathing to self-acceptance.

An original stage play by Linda J. Lord

The Power of Story

November is National Life Writing month. It got me thinking. And when I think, I usually end up buying a book (or two). Books help me think.

I have always appreciated the value of story. It’s why I do what I do. Stories connect people from diverse cultures, from differing experiences, and from various generations. Stories are the glue that holds us, as humanity, together.

We all have a story. Our lives are a combination of feelings, experiences, perceptions, victories, and defeats. There might be something worth sharing in that tangled web of what got us to where we are today.

I started reading The Story Factor, first. It is written by Annette Simmons and reminds the reader of the power of story to connect and influence others. Early in the book she states, “Telling a meaningful story means inspiring your listeners...to reach the same conclusions you have reached and decide for themselves to believe what you say and do what you want them to do.” Page 3. Haven’t we all tried to influence others by sharing a piece of our story to bring our message to life?

Annette goes on to tie story to business and how important story is to building teams and moving companies forward. Whether a career employee or a business owner, trust is key; and we tend to trust people more if we feel we know them. “Let people see who you are, help them to feel like they know you personally, and your trust ration automatically triples...” Page 7

What part of your life story may be relevant to share with staff, customers, family, or friends so they get a better, more complete, picture of who you are?

I haven’t read much from the second book, Storycatcher, yet, but when I do, I’ll let you know what I discover.

What a week!

What a week it has been. Events with the children, my daughter’s birthday, and Darren Jacklin arrived in town.

This is the kind of week that reminds a person of all the good things in life and how important it is to pause and reflect on them. Perspective is key and fresh perspective is priceless.

I have had the pleasure of spending some time with Darren this week and watch him work. People feel better and do better just by having him around. I watched him at a networking event bring people together for mutual benefit. I shared in the experience of walking around the University of Windsor and randomly making a positive difference in people’s lives. I witnessed the power of a mastermind dinner. All that being said, it was a reminder of how much we just need to focus on what we want in our lives and create an action plan, rather than letting the news or other people dictate our feelings and experiences.

Many of you know the current economic condition of Windsor and Essex County and yet I have met several people this week who still believe in the people and the talent of these communities, as I do. I have often said that the first game we must win is the one in our heads and collectively that is true, too. So whatever the personal or societal benefit of having Darren around for a week, it has reminded me that we need to stay true to who we are and what needs to be done.

I have been on a similar journey personally, so the Idea Party Event is quite timely. If you have time to join us tomorrow at Roseland Golf and Curling Club from 9-5, please do. Tuition is only $47 for the day (lunch not included). I look forward to it and hope to see you there.

For my Business Social friends, we will be meeting again next Friday morning at the Beanery Cafe for encouragement and support. This month’s topic will be Staying Focused.

Good Friday afternoon. Another week behind us and preparations are underway for next week. It’s going to be a good one.

I want to thank those who have visited www.creativeclassproductions.ning.com my new social networking site. The new website will be coming soon.

For those who do not know about the creative class, I want to encourage you to read Richard Florida’s book, “The Rise of the Creative Class.” I anticipate the day when creativity is as valued in our society as science and technology are currently.

The thrust of the projects that I will be developing over the next few months will focus on the individual’s ability to make a difference in the way we live and work. I’m pretty excited.

This week’s article: Establishing Performance Objectives

Whether you are a manager or a parent (or both) you have performance expectations for yourselves and others (personally and professionally). What is less likely is that you have a clear process for setting those objectives and monitoring progress.

In a recent webinar, I shared a way to create, implement, and monitor performance goals. Here is a summary of that material.

1. Have a clear vision for your company, department, family, etc.

2. Know what you are trying to achieve

3. Be able to convey your expectations in a concise and compelling way

4. Ensure that the goals are specific enough that people know what to do

5. Make the criteria for success clear enough that people know when they have achieved the goals

6. Ensure that people have the skills and experience to be successful

7. Tracking progress is a key element in meeting goals and objectives

8. Be open to ways to improve the methods being used to achieve the goals

9. Hold weekly meetings to monitor progress, hear about challenges, and offer encouragement

10. Encourage flexibility when unforeseen circumstances emerge that may affect performance.

A Big Thank You

I just want to say thank you to everyone who supported me at the Windsor International Fringe Festival by coming out to see "Cracked".

It was a personally moving experience when the lights came up and I was able to see your faces in the audience.

As you know, the character of Leah Morrison was fictional (I had many people ask if her story was true), and I wrote the piece to convey what I believe is true - that the choices we make are so powerful and making choices is really dependent on understanding who and what matters most to you.

I would love to take this show on the road and add onto it a workshop on values, needs, and setting priorities. The performance would be in the evening and the workshop the following morning. I already have one interested party from Michigan. If you know of any organization, business, or church that would be interested in offering this, please let me know.

Once again, my heartfelt appreciation to all of those who made it out. It meant a lot to me.

An exciting upcoming week

What an exciting week coming up.

The first meeting of the Business Social is sold out for Tuesday, July 14^th. Just a reminder to those who are attending to be there at 8 am for breakfast. I was talking to Tanya today and she has a special breakfast sandwich she is making for us. Also, bring a business situation that you would like to use in our listening exercise. You will really be heard – so bring along a situation that you have been struggling with. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone there. (The next one is Tuesday, August 11, so if you have to miss this one, hopefully you can attend next month.)

This is tech week. My one woman show, Cracked, opens next Saturday afternoon at 5 pm. The Joy Family Theatre at the Capitol Theatre, downtown Windsor. Tickets are $9 and $10. It feels kind of like a party that you have planned for weeks and when it gets close – you hope people come! It is an intense show, and deals with death and addiction, but there is no content or language that is inappropriate for all ages. There are seven performances in all, so if you want details, just let me know.

For anyone able to attend the BizLaunch seminar in London next week, our topic will be: How to get more sales. This seminar is free at the Staples Store at 332 Wellington Road. We start at 6:30 and end promptly at 8 pm.

I spent some time connecting to Twitter links last week and made a couple of discoveries. The first was Ning. For those of you not aware, Ning is another social network. Just go to: www.ning.com and you are able to search networks that you are interested in or if you don’t see it listed, you can start your own. As a result of my searches I have found a couple of sites that might interest some of you. You might want to check out www.beyourart.com (“We are a community and resource which merges business and art for every kind of artist, so they may live their art without compromise.”) You may also like www.happier.com where there are several tests and exercises (based on science and positive psychology). Today is actually their first International Happiness Day, a day intended to “get people focused on happiness.” (http://blog.happier.com/). Check it out.

And on another note. We have a new member of the family. We welcomed a puppy into our home last week. He has fit it quite nicely. He already sleeps through the night – something neither of children did until they were much older than he is – and gets up early with me to start the day. I always thought of myself as a cat person, but this puppy has wiggled – literally and figuratively – into my heart already.

I must here for this week. It is time to get dinner and head out to the soccer field. Enjoy your weekend.

Well, it’s official. It is summer. Lots of great things are planned and I want to share with you what I have learned over the past couple of weeks.
I told you last time that I would share anything interesting that I found while conducting my online research. While scouring through my tweets, I learned of Peter Shankman and www.shankman.com and his service “Help a Reporter Out”. Two or three times a day he sends out information about reporters who are looking for people who want to connect with ‘experts’ on a story they are writing. It is a free service to sign up and can help business owners establish themselves as subject matter experts. Of course, you have to prove you have the background to offer your experience and/or opinion, but I thought it was a cool resource that you might want to check out.
I was asked to start a group for business owners who just want to connect and encourage each other. I will be starting this group in July – July 14th to be exact from 8-9:30 am at the Beanery Café in Lakeshore. The investment is $15.00 and covers the cost of breakfast and your materials. The first meeting of the Business SOCIAL (strategies, opportunities, conversation, interaction, and laughing) will consist of a brief workshop on Listening Skills and plenty of time for encouragement. Space is limited so book your spot today. Final reservations must be in to me by July 09 to give Tanya and Evy time to prepare a hot breakfast for us. (Career employees who need encouragement can contact me to start a group for them, too!)
Also in July, I will be launching my one woman show, Cracked, at the Windsor International Fringe Festival. My show opens on Saturday, July 18 and runs 7 times, closing on Sunday, July 26. Show times vary so if you want to come out and see it, just let me know and I’ll give you exact details. I would really like to be able to take this ‘on the road’ for women’s groups and professional organizations. The show runs approximately 60 minutes and I wrote it to inspire people to focus on who and what really matters most to them.

Good afternoon. It is a beautiful Friday.

It has been a busy couple of weeks. I just want to let you know what an amazing time we had at the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals in Iowa last week. I was so proud of my daughter and her team mates. They placed 25^th out of 52 teams; an outstanding performance given that it was their first appearance at Worlds. There were 785 teams in total from 80 countries. I had never had an opportunity to represent Canada before and it was tremendous. One of my most cherished memories happened quite spontaneously. The four teams from our school were walking from the bus stop to the Coliseum for the banner and float parade (they placed in the top ten) and they suddenly began to sing Oh Canada. They sang it several times in both languages as they walked together. People paused along the way to listen to them and then applauded when they finished. It was very moving. I have included a couple of photos to give you a sense of the magnitude of the event. I’ll admit it has taken most of this week for me to get my head back in the game around here.

So, now that I’m back, I have been busy putting together the press kit for my appearance in the Windsor International Fringe Festival, July 17-26. I am also working on my first round of edits for my book. The editorial review was very favourable and I am hoping for a late 2009 release.

I am happy to let you know that I will soon be announcing an exciting event being held in Windsor next September and a variety of workshops that I will be co-facilitating with other professionals over the next several months, so stay tuned.

I will be doing some internet research this afternoon. I f I find something exciting, I’ll let you know in upcoming newsletters.

You will notice some subtle changes to the website over the next little while. Those changes reflect the change of emphasis for Coaching at Work as a result of client demand and the feedback I received from my email request. I want to thank those of you who responded to my request and I know there are a couple of you who want to speak to me directly – I haven’t forgotten. You will be hearing from me soon.

There is a little bit of everything in this week's newsletter. Some updates, some resources, and a request.

     Let's begin with some updates. Workshops seem to be quite popular this spring. Many organizations that are facing financial challenges are still providing on-site training and support through workshop delivery. The funds may not be as readily available for long term coaching, but the intention of many organizations is to provide the best professional development they can during their current situation. I want to take a moment to commend those companies, as many businesses cut training and development as their first course of savings intitiatives. Remember that now is really the best time to be investing in your staff (and yourself).
     Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Odyssey of the Mind fundraising efforts. The school successfully raised enough money to send all four teams. My daughter has been recognized for the fundraising that she did on her own. Congratulations to all those who contributed the many volunteer hours donated by staff and parents alike. We will be traveling this week to Iowa State University and the competition is being held Thursday and Friday with many opportunities to meet people from a variety of other countries. I am excited.

Join me for one hour this evening from 6:30-7:30 pm at the Puce Sports and Leisure Centre 962 County Road 22 (Puce). A special guest will be co-facilitating this workshop bringing her insights of problem solving as a member of a Provincial Championship Odyssey of the Mind team.

Welcome to April. As I write this, those April showers are coming down. So, let's all look for the arrival of spring and new growth.

A couple of things I want to remind you of that have come up in conversation this past week.

If you have a website, remember you HAVE to have permission and the rights to publish pictures and graphic art on your site. Make sure that wherever you are getting your 'pictures' you have the secured permission/rights to place them there. You may have to pay retroactively for using them. Beware.

A second thing is that of 'borrowing' intellectual property. It may be intended as flattery to use someone else's ideas, but without permission, it is theft. This is also true for taglines and other branding items. A company can spend a great deal of time and money to develop their corporate identity. They choose every detail with a particular intention.

Now to the announcements:

My daughter's Odyssey of the Mind team placed first in her division. With that win came an invitation to participate in Worlds at the University of Iowa in May. We are now fundraising. My daughter and I will be co-facilitating three workshops on: Problem Solving, Team Building, and Creativity. We will be presenting at the Puce Recreation Complex on April 16, 23, and 29 at 6:30 pm. If your organization wishes to book us to speak to your group, please contact me at 519.257.7363 for the group rate. Tickets for the public session are $20 per person and all proceeds will be donated to individual and team expenses. The team would also welcome any corporate sponsorships and donations. We are looking at having to raise several thousand dollars to cover entry fees, accommodations, and transportation of both people and performance sets. A fashion show to honour the Ones We Love Inc. to provide supportive care for children afflicted with cancer in our community. Happy final Friday of March to you all. It has been a month full of surprises and new opportunities. I have been facilitating the free BizLaunch Seminars at Staples stores in Windsor, Chatham, and London. Turnout has been very strong. I'm so glad to see that business owners continue to believe in the strength they bring to their communities. I continue to teach for the SEA and SES programs for new businesses. Classes are growing and the importance of planning for success has never stronger. I am of course, always happy to be working with my individual clients and providing lunch and learn workshops in a variety of organizations.
I want to share an article that I wrote this week and posted on the website. It is titled, "Time of Recession or Forced Evaluation". I would love to get your feedback.

     A Time of Recession of Forced Evaluation?
     Here's a thought. What if we stopped thinking of this time in our history as a recession and started thinking of it in terms of a forced evaluaton of where we put our trust and our priorities? What would happen if we used this time to reflect on how far out of whack things have gotten and how can we restore some of the core values we used to live by?
     Don't get me wrong. I know times are bad and the economy is barely chugging along. All I'm suggesting is that we look at it as a time to assess how we got here and what things we have sacrificed along the way that are now coming back to haunt us. Perspective is a fabulous thing. When we can step back from the immediate circumstances of our situations and see it from a broader perspective, we are often provided with additional information that can assist us in refocusing. I know that I have had to make adjustments in my business. I've had to reconsider what is necessary to have and what is nice to have. I'm sticking with my marketing and lifelong learning. Some of my services are scaled back. Projects that might have been nice to do have been shelved, but projects that came out of nowhere are now being developed. It is about being open to what I am supposed to be learning.
     If I was to suggest that you reflect on who and what really matters to you, what would you say? When cash flow is compromised, what matters most? Stopping long enough to see what truly matters can be very liberating. Small businesses may have the advantage here. Because of less administration and bureaucracy, small businesses are better able to respond more quickly. If they are flexible and nimble they can sort out what matters and what they should be focusing on and then go do it. It's one of the things that makes working with small business owners so rewarding.
     But we all have the opportunity to do a little self-evaluation here. We can take a look at our resources and our responsibilities. We can assess what we really need. We can also take this opportunity to educate the next generation. Let's lead by example. What have we learned about ourselves and about our choices? What values contributed to where we are today? We aren't going to overhaul our society in a moment. We didn't get here in a moment. But one moment spent in consideration of our priorities might make more of a difference than you know.


     I also want to know what your greatest challenges are right now. It may be the obvious answers based on what's in the news, or it may be a personal struggle that is coming to light in recent times. As a human agriculturalist, I want to be able to provide timely and meaningful ways for you to grow. Let me know what those might be. I was recently asked if I would consider starting a group for new and existing business owners, not for networking, but for mutual support and the sharing of ideas. I think it's a great concept, so if anyone receiving this newsletter would be interested in joining, just let me know.
     Also, I want to let everyone know that there is now a Skype button on the website. It will indicate when I am online and you can contact me for a live conversation.
     This week, you will also find an audio interview with Foam Frenzy business owner, Renee Freeman on the website.
     Tuesday, March 31st I will be at the Leamington SES Office conducting a Lunch and Learn workshop on "Your Three Major Roles in Business" from 11:30 to 12:30, then off to London for a Staples-BizLaunch seminar titled, "How to Market Your Business on a Small Budget". I hope you can join me.
     Last newsletter I mentioned the Odyssey of the Mind competition. There were some questions about the program. It is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through university. Two websites that are useful if you are interested in finding out more are: www.odysseyofthemind.com (the international organization) and www.ocpsonline.org (website for the province of Ontario). I hope that information is helpful.
     Today's weather is supposed to be gorgeous, so I'm wrapping up some office details this morning and then heading out. Enjoy the weekend.

Just wanted to take a moment and update you on a few initiatives.

Next week I will be launching Laugh with Linda. Join me on my website at 8:30 am on Tuesday, March 24 for an introductory session. I am still looking for a few groups and organizations willing to beta test this project at no cost. I believe that we all need more laughter in our lives to cope with current external circumstances. Be a trend maker in the Windsor-Essex area.

Next weekend is the Odyssey of the Mind Problem Solving Competition. This is a provincial competition for school teams to present their solutions to long term problems and solve spontaneous problems. At a time when creative thinking and problem solving are in great demand, it is encouraging to witness our youth engaging in challenging problems and creating solutions as a team. I have had the privilege of assisting one team as it prepares for the competition.

I also want to remind everyone of the BizLaunch Seminar that I will be leading at the Staples store on Tecumseh Road in Windsor next Wednesday night (March 25th) from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm. This is a free seminar. The topic is How to Market Your Business on a Small Budget.

March is Employee Spirit Month. It may never be a better time to invest in the morale of your key assets, than right now. There is no magic formula for improving employee spirits, however I would encourage you to assess the current attitudes of your employees. They may be struggling with increased work loads, diminished resources, and an uncertain future. What is the current attitude held by your key personnel? What is your attitude about the future? Attitude drives performance. Harvard psychologist William James is quoted as having said the following: "The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes of mind." If attitudes can change a person, then individual attitudes combined at work, can change business. Ensure the change is a positive one. I will be exploring this more next week on the website. Laughter as a Stress Reducer

You may have seen it on Oprah. You may have wondered if it could really work. Well your wait is over. Laughter Yoga has arrived.

I want to encourage you to try this new form of exercise and stress reduction. Gather with a small group of equally open-minded people to experience the liberating effects of laughing for no reason.

This concept of simulated laughter combined with gentle breathing techniques teaches the body to laugh without depending on jokes or humour. There are no contortions, no need for particular items of clothing or equipment, and anybody can do it.

The benefits are many. There is sufficient data available from medical research to show that even if you pretend to laugh or act happy your body produces happiness chemicals. By willingly putting your body through the muscular behaviours of happiness, you trick your mind into creating the chemistry to go with it.

Laughter helps to remove the negative effects of stress. Laughter helps to boost the immune system. Laughter alleviates pain and releases endorphins. Laughter makes circumstances more bearable. Laughter feels good!

The offer: The first five groups that respond will receive the 40 minute workshop at no cost. These groups can be professional (within the work environment) or personal (a group of friends who want to benefit from this experience). After those first five groups, the cost for each session will be $5 per person. What a great way to spend a lunch break or start the day before work.
